Like a burning fire around the neck that keeps the chest glowing, this necklace is one of those pieces I live to make. I purchased these Opals from a stone cutter in Taxco and have held on to them for a while, hesitating to divide them up. They are simply too marvellous and belong together. These orange fire Opals mined in Mexico are such amazing stones, I cant wait to get my hands on some more. This beautiful piece took me 10 hours to make, shaping each bezel, soldering, polishing and carefully setting the Opals. These fire opals are more fragile than glass, and my hands had to be oh so steady when I set them. The piece is made with Sterling silver beads which rests on an 18 inch Italian made chain. Made at my Montreal studio, with love.
YHY + Note to Buyers
All of the pieces in my collections are entirely handmade by me, from nearly every single step in the process. Because of this, my jewelry is unique and not a single piece is identical to another, nor are they perfect. My work is embedded in imperfections, and the fingerprints of the hands that create them are seeped in the metal. It’s a style option and preference and what I love, and ultimately what gives these pieces characteristic and charm.
