I've been playing around recently with shiny little stones that are dainty and fragile. Yet my roots in stone work lay in traditional, good old cabochons. I was always more drawn to semi-precious stones that hold within them the colours of the earth, it's textures and history. I also just love a good old wide band with a hunky chunky gem, I love the weight on my fingers when I wear a heavier ring. This extraordinary Mookaite Jasper is mined and cut in Western Australia. These jaspers are almost a reflection of the landscape they come from- hot, wild desert. Made with a 1.3 mm thick Sterling band, polished to a silky and shiny surface, with a signature mark on its behind. Makers mark stamp on the inside. Handmade in my Montreal studio. This beauty is a size 7.
YHY + Note to Buyers
All of the pieces in my collections are entirely handmade by me, from nearly every single step in the process. Because of this, my jewelry is unique and not a single piece is identical to another, nor are they perfect. My work is embedded in imperfections, and the fingerprints of the hands that create them are seeped in the metal. It’s a style option and preference and what I love, and ultimately what gives these pieces characteristic and charm.
