I love making chains, and although most chains I make are custom orders I try to find the time to make at least one chain for sale a year, each year trying a new design and a new approach. This year it's the Sailor's Chain, entirely handmade, and a good 14 hours of work. This chain consists of 86 handmade jump rings, shaped, soldered, cut, connected, soldered, filed and polished. This is truly a piece that will last generations, and can secure a ship out at sea. The solder is that strong. It's tough and somehow macho, different from the chains I've made in the past, the Sailor's Chain is not dainty, or girly. It's got attitude- and I guess it gets it from me. An all time favourite waiting for that neck that will keep it for decades. 100% reclaimed sterling silver, handmade by me in my Newfoundland studio. 18 inches in length. (it is possible to increase the length)
